People and the economy in their interaction create change. Technological advancements, urbanization, globalization - all these changes affect us and our economy for the better or the worse, creating better standards of life on the one hand, and exacerbating environmental degradation and social inequalities on the other. Tanzania has a flourishing economy of agriculture, tourism and industry, whilst sitting on a treasure of cultural heritage. Its urban areas are vibrant and growing. But Tanzania is also facing challenges of economic instability, social inequalities and climate change. Dar Foto Festival 2024 seeks to showcase the socio-economic status of Tanzania through its local photographers.
